Step behind the scenes and bring a Broadway production to life! In this hands-on, immersive boot camp, students will become the creative force behind our youth production of RENT. From building the set to running the lights, campers will gain real-world experience in the fast-paced world of technical theatre.
Participants will learn how to safely use a variety of power tools to construct set pieces, explore the fundamentals of lighting and sound design (including hands-on use of boards and equipment), assist with costuming, and dive into scenic painting and stagecraft techniques. Every day offers a new opportunity to collaborate, problem-solve, and create something extraordinary.
This camp is offered in conjunction with our production of RENT. Please note that the show contains mature themes that may not be suitable for all families. If you would like your child to participate in Theatre Tech Boot Camp without direct exposure to show content, please let us know when you register, we are happy to accommodate.
Safety First: All students must follow safety guidelines, including wearing closed-toe, closed-heel shoes and keeping long hair tied back while working in the shop.
