Mixed Media and Techniques in Modern Art – Onsite Class (Ages 16+)

Artist and instructor Leo Johnson will guide students to investigate and use all forms of painting and drawing media and then to move on to found objects, collage, and assemblages.  This class will be about exploration.  Students will learn to explore with collage, watercolor, oil pastels, acrylics, and found objects in ways that will push their creative limits.  Beginning students will learn jumping off points and advanced students will learn new tricks for their bag.  If you are an accomplished artist, bring your current work for assistance and critique.  Novices will practice a new media and technique each week. This class will be organized in an open studio style; sharing ideas and critiques.  Expect lots of encouragement!

Supply list:

• Basic sets of watercolors, acrylics, oil pastels, and brushes
• Gel Medium
• 3 Canvases – 16×20”
• Watercolor paper pad – 9×12”
