Event details

This online drawing class is a fun way to practice portraying faces and learning more about the concept of nude in art history. Discuss ideas from the omonimous book by John Brophy on how Western artists have depicted the face in relation to the human body. Grab your coffee and feel free to stay in your PJs as this class will be taken from the comfort of your own home!

Supply list:

  • Charcoal pencil 2B and 4B
  • Compressed Charcoal stick
  • 1 white plastic eraser
  • 1 Loew-Cornell Sandpaper Block
  • Drawing pad 18×24: Strathmore Charcoal paper, 400lb series of comparable 80lb
  • Blending stumps of assorted sizes
  • Paper towels
  • Zoom program or app downloaded on your device

Please note: this interactive and hands-on class is hosted online, which means you get to enjoy it from the comfort of your living room, studio or kitchen table! It will be hosted via Zoom. If you’ve never used zoom before, we suggest you take some time to familiarize yourself with the platform ahead of time and download the app. You can find everything you’ll need at Zoom.us or in the App store on your phone or tablet. An access link will be provided prior to the start of class.
