ArtPlay: Visual Arts for Artists with Autism – Onsite Class

Come paint, draw and create with Ms. Vania. In this class, your child will be introduced to basic art techniques, which are the building blocks that will provide a solid foundation for future art lovers and artists. Children will explore with chalk, paints, papers, mixed media and more. This unique outdoor learning experience places an emphasis on having fun while exploring creativity!  Family Initiative staff accompany all art instructors during ArtPlay!

ASD Visual Art classes are designed to engage children with Autism Spectrum Disorder in the arts while focusing on identity development, self-awareness, self-esteem, social communication, and building positive coping skills.  Classes are open to ages 8 – 17.

Students must:
-Respond to verbal direction
-Independently toilet
-Not require 1 on 1 supervision

All supplies are provided.

Please note: this class is hosted outside to allow for social distancing. Masks are required to enter the building or when students are unable to social distance. In the case of inclement weather, we will make accommodations with the instructor and students.
