Vinson Johnson
Vinson “Wordsworth” Johnson is an educator, author, and musician with a rich academic and creative background. He holds a Master’s in Music Business (University of Miami), Secondary Education, and Educational Leadership (Grand Canyon University), and a B.A. in Language Arts from S.U.N.Y. Old Westbury, where he famously wrote assignments in rhyme, and honored as a top 50 graduate. A co-creator of MTV’s The Lyricist Lounge Show, his music has appeared in Netflix’s Peabody and Sherman, Bel-Air, Power, Criminal Minds, NCIS, SpongeBob SquarePants: The Movie, and Dexter’s Laboratory. His poetry book What Words Are Worth: Volume 1 reached #9 on Amazon’s Top 10 New Releases, and his children’s book Socks has received critical acclaim from educators. Johnson developed a middle school TV/Film and music production curriculum and licenses his songwriting course Organized Rhyme to the University of Miami. A sought-after speaker, he has presented at Harvard, SXSW EDU, and more. He currently teaches TV, film, and music production in middle school, and hip hop history and culture as an adjunct professor at Monroe University.
