Lisa Boardwine

Lisa B. Boardwine is a painter who works in oil/cold wax and acrylic/mixed media.  Lisa is a Signature member of the Virginia Watercolor Society and a Signature Artist member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society.  She is an instructor for workshops and art retreats throughout the eastern US.  One of Lisa’ favorite sayings to her students is, “Create a history, provide some mystery, and make your mark!”

Lisa enjoys travel so the “spirit of place” influences her current work.  Her experiences and visual memories are shared in her paintings.  Mark making, altered surface, and the essence of landscapes are a common thread that runs throughout her work.

Lisa has published three keepsake books, “Layers, Marks, History-Selected Paintings in Oil/Cold Wax,” and, “Inspiration, Intuition, Image,” and, “Composition, Connection, Creativity.”  She has been featured in two e-books, Volume 4 and 6 of, “A walk into Abstracts – How Did They Do That?” and also in the books, “Wabi Sabi-Cold Wax Painting,” and, “Cold Wax Medium: Techniques, Concepts & Conversations.”

Lisa has been the recipient of three residency/fellowships at the Virginia Center for Creative Arts.  She also owns Golden Palette Gallery/Studio, a custom frame shop and gallery.  She offers a long distance mentoring program for art students and has a YouTube channel – Lisa B. Boardwine.  Lisa is represented by several galleries and arts centers and has work included in various collections, private and corporate, both nationally and internationally.
