Southern Gothic Novel
August 9 • There are 5,218 people living in Aberdeen, Mississippi. This is the story of 17 of them. And the men that caused all of the trouble. August 30 • Frank Blocker brings his Fringe Fort Myers 2024 performance back to the Foulds Theatre for one night only. Evil landlord “Killer” Joe goes to war on the tenants of his 5-floor stabilized apartment building in Manhattan. Septuagenarian sex addict Lorna Breedlove, the “mother” of them all, guides her eccentric neighbors to keep up the good fight in this biting comedy that ran for two years at Manhattan’s Stage Left Studio. Half of all ticket sales will go directly to AFTA’s Art is Essential campaign.
Find Out More5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche Directed by Stephanie Davis
September 5-15 • Set in 1956, amid fears of Communist attack and homosexual subversion, the Susan B. Anthony Society for the Sisters of Gertrude Stein convenes for its annual Quiche Breakfast in a revamped meeting hall-bomb shelter. As Soviet bombs fall, the Sisters, facing years in the shelter, abandon social conventions and embrace their true lesbian identity.
Find Out MoreClown Bar 2 by Adam Szymkowicz Directed by Bill Taylor
December 12-22 • Return to the scene of the crime for the highly-anticipated NYC premiere of CLOWN BAR 2, follow-up to the hit noir-thriller-comedy-NYT Critic's Pick by Adam Szymkowicz. There's been a murder at Clown Bar. Grab a drink and a seltzer-gun and follow two cops undercover to crack the case as you immerse yourself in the clown crime underworld.
Find Out MoreAugust Wilson's Jitney, Directed by Sonya McCarter
February 13-23 • Conversation sings and swings, bends and bounces and hits heaven smack in the clouds, in the glorious new production of August Wilson’s “Jitney”. Set in a gypsy cab station in Pittsburgh’s largely black Hill District, the site of most of Wilson’s plays. The drama is composed from the conversations of these workers and those who regularly drop by. It’s a symphony of gossip, bicker, complaint and reassurance that no one is dog-paddling out there alone.
