Zine: Love Your Rebellion’s Therapeutic Arts Workshop 3: Homecoming

LYR’s Therapeutic Arts Workshops utilize the exercises in our original therapeutic artwork books in a group setting with the guidance of an instructor. Each workshop offers opportunities for exploration and self-discovery via writing, visual art, music, and meditation. Course participants will each receive a copy of the workbook used during the workshop.

Workshop 3 utilizes Issue 16: Homecoming, which contains 3 activities and 1 guided meditational about feeling at home in your body. Materials required for this workshop: a cell phone that can stream audio from a website and headphones.

Welcome to Love Your Rebellion Issue 16: Homecoming. Here is a snapshot of the activities that will be offered during this workshop:

Activity 1 – The Complex: Through writing, identify and explore social expectations and stereotypes that influence how you see yourself.
Activity 2 – The Blueprint: through drawing, map out your internal world to identify what needs renovation.
Activity 3 – The Deed: write a statement and make a collage that’s committed to self-care.
Activity 4 – The Afterparty: start with a body movement meditation, and then create a playlist that makes you want to move.
