Youth Art Works – Onsite Class (Ages 9+)

Curiosity and creativity are the key elements of this popular art class.

Students will come away with a greater appreciation of the arts while developing their natural skills of expression, exploration and observation. Artistic concepts of form, value, light, shadow, color and proportions will be explored using a variety of media including pencil, watercolors, mixed media and acrylics. Most importantly, each child will be guided by professional artists Leo & Krista Johnson to find his or own personal vision and to build self-confidence — skills which can take them beyond the classroom artistically, academically and interpersonally. All in a relaxed, fun environment.

Supply list:

• Something to paint on – canvas, wood, paper
• Set of Acrylic paints
• 2 pencils and an eraser
• Pallet Knife
• Wax paper or paper plates
• Gel medium or Modge Podge
• Ruler
• Oil pastels
• Pad of drawing paper

Please note: this class is hosted onsite in our classroom. If you are joining us for onsite programming, we ask that you adhere to signage and procedures posted on our campus. Face masks are required at all times and you are advised to keep 6 feet (2 meters) between you and others.
