Youth Art Works – Onsite Class (Ages 9+)

So much fun they won’t know they’re learning!  This youth class is designed to foster an appreciation of art for students.  We will introduce students to a variety of materials and artistic concepts to evoke their curiosity and to hone their natural creativity.  Students will cover techniques in pencil, watercolors, mixed media, and acrylics.  Students will advance their skills of observation and will cover concepts such as form, value, light and shadow, color, and proportions—and, how to utilize these concepts to convey their personal vision.  With an emphasis on exploration, professional artists teach students in a fun, relaxed environment where they can express their creativity and gain self-confidence.  The techniques developed do not stop here; students utilize these new skills artistically, academically, and interpersonally.

Supply list:

• Something to paint on – canvas, wood, paper
• Set of Acrylic paints
• 2 pencils and an eraser
• Pallet Knife
• Wax paper or paper plates
• Gel medium or Modge Podge
• Ruler
• Oil pastels
• Pad of drawing paper

Please note: this class is hosted onsite in our classroom. If you are joining us for onsite programming, we ask that you adhere to signage and procedures posted on our campus.
