Event details

“Wiring a bonsai is an important design technique for shaping a bonsai. The growth and shape of the bonsai is influenced by the wire.”

Bonsai is an ancient Japanese art form in which growers cultivate trees in various artistic shapes and forms. One of most important tools used in training and shaping bonsai, aluminum wire is used to carefully wrap, bend, and train the various branches and limbs on the tree. Bonsai expert, Michael Lane will teach you the appropriate approach, application, and positioning of the wire as well as the various ways in which it helps us shape the plant. Wiring is a fast, effective, and at times beautiful, way of creating and maintaining our bonsai.

Supplies:

  • Your own Bonsai tree to work on
  • Wire (If you do not have the correct wire, it will be provided for a $10 fee)
