The Business of Art – Lecture (Ages 16+)

Professional artist Jan Ellen Atkielski will highlight a practical guide to finding an art career or setting up a business as a self-employed artist.  Topics will include:

• Creating a business/marketing plan
• Secrets to exhibiting
• Business Basics (registering your business, sales tax id number, copyright law, quotes and contracts, pricing, client data bases, etc.)
• Applying for Grants
• Websites and Blogs

The lecture is approximately 45 minutes with a 15 minute Q&A period.  Handouts will be available.
