Relaxing – Meditative Watercolor Painting (Ages 16+)

Join teaching artist Susan Beavers and enjoy a relaxing, meditative form of painting using one brush and colors which please you.  Create shapes and forms using basic brush strokes while listening to soothing background music.  As Susan says, “You don’t have to be an artist.  The art I teach is meditative; for relaxation.”  Whatever your skill level, take time to listen to your inner artist and create art to sooth the soul!

Sumi-e Supply List

• Sumi-e brush – small Hobuku 6060S
• Watercolor in tubes:black, blue and green. May use any brand watercolors.
• Newsprint pad, any brand.
• Container for water
• Absorbent cloth or paper towels
• Palette (white plate)
• Sumi paper (optional)
