Event details

Whether you are sketching a subject as the basis for a portrait painting or a completed drawing, capturing the likeness of your subject is probably the most difficult part of portraiture.  Definitely the most important step, it is crucial to the successful execution of the portrait.  In this in-depth session, you will learn how to “block in” the subjects head, appropriately “place” the facial features and execute realistic eyes, ears, nose, chin, etc. No matter the medium used in the final portrait (pencil, charcoal, pastel, acrylic, oil or watercolor) the key ingredient is a well-drawn value study of the person.
