Selected Works by Maikel Rivero Fernández

In this exhibit, we invite you to explore Maikel Rivero Fernández’s serenity and reflection. This body of monochromatic works transform familiar subjects into contemplative studies of light, form, and atmosphere. Motifs long associated with traditional still life and botanical imagery get reimagined through an exploratory, reductive process in which charcoal is layered and erased to create tonal shifts that reveal transient, dreamlike imagery. By limiting color, Rivero Hernandez’s works invite viewers to slow down and focus on texture and gesture through both presence and absence.

Rivero Hernandez’s work is grounded drawing while still embracing experimentation both in the medium and the subject, allowing recognizable forms to exist between realism and abstraction. This results in pieces that offer moments of contemplation while demonstrating that techniques can be renewed through material exploration to create images that are simultaneously timeless, intimate, and meditative.

Terry Lynn’s Students’ Exhibition

This exhibition features original acrylic paintings created by students of Terry Lynn Spry’s painting class. The works reflect a vibrant, critique-driven studio environment where experimentation, thoughtful feedback, and individual growth are central. Guided by Terry Lynn’s one-on-one instruction and group discussions, students explore composition, color, form, and contrast, resulting in a diverse collection that showcases both technical development and personal artistic voice.
