Winnie was born and raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico. She studied art at Artes Plasticas University of Guadalaljara, music with maestro Eduardo Garciapena and dance at Escuela de Danzas Polinecias. The love for the different art disciplines has always been her inspiration and her way to express her points of view about life. The mix media techniques had played an important role in her art. The whimsical surreal world, has been the signature of her art.
Winnie arrived in South West Florida in 2001, and she immediately started to work as a singer and percussionist with the maestro Steve Uscher and his Tropical Jazz Group.
Winnie had played at the Ritz Carlton Beach resort in Naples for the last eleven years and performances have included Jazz society concerts in Naples, Fort Myers and Port Charlotte, CAPA Jazz festivals. She has worked regularly at hotels including Sanibel harbor resort, Naples Grand, La Playa and numerous restaurants and clubs in South West Florida.
Winnie is also a Dance Instructor at Enchanted Ballroom in Bonita Springs, and has her own art business, Winnie Purple Designs where she sells her original jewelry, Clothing and art paintings.
Her work will be on display October 1 – 30, 2021.
