Fridays with Francesco: White chalk on black paper for dramatic light (Ages 18+)

In this workshop Francesco will focus on drawing situations with extreme chiaroscuro effect using white chalk on dark value paper as the basis for the drawing. The challenge of this workshop is that the student will work completely in reverse of a typical drawing with black charcoal on light paper. The fun part is that it is much easier to build up highlights and achieve luminosity in
the drawing.

All lessons will include introduction, lesson overview, drawing demonstration and one on one assistance and feedback.

There will be a 1/2 break for lunch.

• 1 White plastic eraser
• 1 Kneaded eraser
• 1 Loew-Cornell Sandpaper Block
• 2 sheets18” x24” black Canson Mi-Tientes toned paper
• New or clean blending stumps assorted sizes 3 pc.
