Event details

In this workshop you will be working on the toned paper, the introduction of white pastel allows for richer, more accurate development of highlights.

After a brief introduction on how to use toned paper we will work on the sculpture from Antonio Canova: Napoleon.

This process will prepare you for work in more advanced courses such as painting, where colored grounds are often used as the foundation for full-color images. Halftone areas that were difficult to develop on white paper are now dominated by the color of the toned paper, allowing for easier transitions into the illuminated portions of the subjects. The workshop will include introduction, lesson overview, drawing demonstrations and one on one assistance and feedback.

Francesco’s one on one assistance and feedback ensure beginner students understanding and keeps advanced and returning students engaged and challenged.
