Fridays with Francesco: Laws of Light Workshop (Ages 18+)

In this workshop Francesco will explain how to predict the shape of a shadow projected by a solid on a simple surface. In the morning the subject will be a still life consisting of several simple objects. In the afternoon we will apply the notions learned with the life model.
We will cover concepts such as light source, radiation point, vanishing point, one point and two point perspective, highlight, halftone, core shadow, reflected light, cast shadow.
All lessons will include  introduction, lesson overview, drawing demonstrations and one on one assistance and feedback.

There will be a lunch break from 12:30-1

2 graphite pencils HB and 2B
1 charcoal pencil 2B
1 White plastic eraser
1 Kneaded eraser
1 Loew-Cornell Sandpaper Block
1  18”x 24” pad of  quality heavy weight paper,  80lb (130 gsm) paper
1 sketch tote board
