Event details

Students often draw based on expectations rather than observation. This workshop builds the ability to closely observe and record visual details, expanding your drawing vocabulary.

Workshop Objectives Include:
• Accurate observation using lines for outlines, textures, and changes in form
• Control of line and line weight
• Improved hand–eye coordination
• Creating form, space, and light without shading

Your drawing will use only line, focusing on accurate detail and control of line and weight. The pencil must stay in contact with the paper at all times to create a continuous contour drawing. If you must switch pencils, resume from the exact point you stopped. No shading or erasing. Use varied line weight to organize information: darker, thicker lines for major forms; lighter lines for secondary details and textures. Line weight can also show lighting and depth—darker for shadows and closer areas, lighter for illuminated or distant parts. Francesco’s one on one assistance and feedback ensure beginner students’ understanding and keeps advanced and returning students engaged and challenged.

Supplies Needed
