Master Artist: Claude Monet, Poppies

Join master painter and teacher Laurent Dareau as he leads students through an exciting evening of conversation, history with stories, and the process of painting a marvelous image. In each workshop Laurent will focus on a masterpiece by a famous artist. Throughout the evening you will learn more and do more than you ever thought possible.

Each session will begin with a 30 minute sociable walk and talk through the Alliance galleries. Please bring a bottle of your favorite beverage to enjoy and/or share! This social time will be followed by Laurent’s presentation about the artist, the era, and the selected painting. Students will then be lead through a step by step process to recreate the work of a master.

• (1) canvas – 16×20 suggested
• Acrylic paint in 6 colors: yellow, orange, red, cayenne blue, ultramarine blue, white
• Brushes: 1 sm round & 1 lg round
