Beginning Painting: Oil, Acrylic or Pastels (Ages 14+)

Learn the basics of academic painting, from the human body to still life, landscapes and more. It is all about learning and understanding the rules of composition, negative spaces, tensions, vertical and horizontal, light and shadow. Any level is welcome, as we can always learn more. This class is a compliment to the Beginning Drawing course but having taken the drawing course is NOT a pre-requisite.

Supply List

• (1) canvas – 16×20 suggested (to begin with – more will be needed and discussed in class)
• Acrylic paint in 6 colors: yellow, orange, red, cayenne blue, ultramarine blue, white
• Brushes: 1 sm round & 1 lg round
