Event details

Have you been interested in trying a new painting process but have been afraid to learn? This 3-Day workshop is about using the batik (Indonesian style wax resist painting) and rozome (Japanese style batik) wax and dye painting processes to create unique artwork on fabric that can be used on everyday household objects, clothing or works of art! Play with tjaps (Indonesian printing blocks), tjanting tools, brushes, and other waxing techniques so that you have a variety of tools to create artwork that is uniquely yours.  We will work with environmentally friendly soy/beeswax and acid dyes for vivid colors. Good for silk painters, fiber artists and artists who would like to work in fiber so they can add new techniques and ideas to their toolkit.

Classes held Weds. 2/23, Friday 2/25 and Sunday 2/27 to allow time for drying in between days.

Please bring a lunch each day as you don’t want to miss out on any fun time!
