Event details

Have you always wanted to try Abstract Painting but didn’t know how to approach it? Overcome any worries and experience new ways to express yourself- our experienced Instructors will support and guide you! Caren Pearson, a Lee County art teacher for 22 years, will provide a foundation of art basics, introduce a range of techniques, help you understand the language of “abstract” painting and help you to develop your abstract art. Lois (Lo) McDougall, an abstract artist, encourages you to show emotions, slap the paint on bravely and tells you the
importance of making and learning from your mistakes. You don’t have to be perfect here.

This class will ease you through the Three Stages of abstract painting:
Childhood: Your Wild Child! Experimental and uncontrolled
Adolescent: Your Emerging Artist! More refined and purposeful
Adult: Proficient Artist! Balancing freedom of expression with universal organizing structure.

We’ll have fun exploring and learning what the basics are and how to use them while trying out some new skills and techniques and how to look at art with a critical eye.

Take the plunge- you’ll be happy you did!
