Registration is still open and we plan to run Musical Theatre Intensive Summer Camp as scheduled.
In light of the current Covid 19 situation the Alliance for the Arts, in partnership with the Broadway Palm Dinner Theater, is preparing precautionary measures to ensure campers, camp families, and staff remain safe and healthy while participating in Musical Theatre Intensive Camp this summer. Some of these precautions include.
- Temperature checks for all staff and campers before being admitted into the facility.
- Provide hand sanitizer and easy access to wash stations.
- Ensure regular hand washing throughout the day.
- Eliminate commonly used materials and clean surfaces and spaces daily.
- Practice social distancing at all times including rehearsals and lunch.
- All choreography will be designed so there is no personal contact.
- Performance audiences will be limited to family members and parties will be seated following social distancing guidelines set by Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre.

Step on stage and shine with the excitement and magic of live musical theatre! Campers have the unique opportunity to work with Broadway Palm’s resident Director and Choreographer, Amy McCleary and with actors from current Broadway Palm shows. Each week of Musical Theatre Intensive summer camp culminates with a performance at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre facilities. Campers will also attend Broadway Palm’s current productions. Enjoy a fun-filled summer of musical theatre, acting, dance, voice and technical production!
Limited spots. Alliance member registration opens and March 2 is $175 per week. Non-member registration opens March 16 and is $220 per week.

CAMP DETAILS, WEEKS AND THEMES
All four weeks will be held at Broadway Palm’s rehearsal space at 1400 Colonial Boulevard, Suite 23, Fort Myers, FL 33907 in the Royal Palm Plaza. Please bring a bag lunch & snack (no refrigeration available). Students should wear dance clothes or rehearsal clothes (no jeans), jazz shoes, ballet slippers, dance shoes or sneakers (no flip-flops or sandals).
Camp runs 9 a.m. through 4p.m, Monday through Friday. Daily arrival time is 8:45-9:00 a.m. No extended care available. Final performances take place on Friday at 3 p.m. Tuition for each week is $175 for Alliance Members or $220 for non-members. Registration opens to Alliance Members on March 2 and non-members on March 16. You may become a member during the online registration process in order to receive the discounted price.
July 6 – 10 • The Sounds of Classic Broadway (Grades 7 – 12)
Let’s start at the very beginning! The Sound of Music is back at the Broadway Palm complete with My Favorite Things, Do Re Mi and all the famous songs you know and love. This week we will be working on scenes and songs from this classic musical theatre masterpiece along with other material from the golden age of musical theatre. Get inspired by attending a performance of the show followed by a question and answer session with the cast. Students will use improv exercises to help create over the top characters. Specialty courses in vocal technique, music theatre and scene study will be offered as we bring the classics to life. This camp is ideal for our younger campers and will culminate in a final performance on the Broadway Palm stage.
July 13 – 17 • Something Rotten! (Grades 7 – 12)
What do you get when you cross Shakespeare with musical theatre? Find out this week at camp as we focus on scenes and songs from the Broadway Palm hit Something Rotten. This week will feature improv courses to help create over the top comedic characters, tap dance workshops featuring choreography from the show and general mayhem and madness. Students will get to attend the The Sound of Music and have one and one lessons with cast members – focusing on vocal technique and how to prepare for auditions. It all wraps up with a performance on the Broadway Palm stage complete with sets, props and professional lighting.
July 20 – July 24 • Kinky Boots goes Pop! (Grades 7 – 12)
Work with Broadway Palm’s resident director and choreographer, Amy McCleary, on songs and dances from her production of Kinky Boots! Perfect your English accent with scene work from the show and sing the amazing Cyndi Lauper score. Students will attend Broadway Palm’s production of The Sound of Music and work with cast members on audition technique, musical theatre dance, advanced acing techniques and advanced vocal techniques such as riffing and pop/rock style. The week ends with a performance on the Broadway Palm stage and will “Raise You Up” with scenes and songs from Kinky Boots!
July 27 – July 31 • Broadway Palm Season Guide – Advanced (Grades 7 – 12)
This camp is for students who are looking to pursue a career in the performing arts. Actors will be pushed to perform at the peak of their abilities with advanced part singing, partner dancing, and a variety of scene work based on Broadway Palm’s 2019/2020 season including Once, Finding Neverland, Grumpy Old Men, Kinky Boots, Something Rotten, Swing and The Sound of Music. With so many great shows there is something for everyone at this camp! Students will dive into the history of musical theatre and become familiar with each show – learning historical context and how to audition for varying genres. Students will also attend a performance of The Sound of Music followed by a question and answer session with the cast. Professional actors from Broadway Palm will work with students one on one on audition technique, musical theatre history, music theory, vocal technique and style and a variety of dance forms. The final performance on the Broadway Palm stage will feature each student in a role from our previous season.
ALL CAMP PAYMENT AND REFUND POLICY – IN THE EVENT CAMP IS CANCELLED DUE TO THE CORONA VIRUS, A FULL REFUND WILL BE PROVIDED.
- 50% deposit is required upon checkout. The deposit is non-refundable.
- A credit card must remain on file if a balance remains.
- Any balance due will be billed on Friday, May 25th to the credit card on file.
- Cancellation must be submitted in writing and can be emailed directly to email@example.com.
- Cancellations, in writing, 14 or more days prior to the start of the camp week will receive 50% refund (The deposit is non-refundable).
- Cancellations not in writing or less than 14 before the start of camp forfeit full camp tuition costs. Camp cancellations may be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
- Refunds will not be made available for last minute vacation plans or camper behavioral issues.
