Event details

This workshop is for those who have never picked up knitting needles and for those who have some experience and want to learn a new stitch or two!

We will start with the basics and move on to knitting dishcloths as our class project: utilizing various pattern options depending on your skill level.

Not interested in dishcloths? Bring a project you are working on along with a pattern and I will help get you started or give you tips to help your project work go smoother.

By the end of this workshop we will have you ready to make whatever knitted project your heart desires.

Supply list:

  • Size 7 needles (straight or circular)
  • 1 to 2 skeins of any cotton worsted weight yarn (for dishcloths I recommend Lily’s Sugar n’ Cream yarns)

About Emily: Emily taught herself to knit using YouTube tutorials and lots of guessing in middle school and has been knitting ever since. She used knitting as a stress reliever through college and grad school and has recently joined the Alliance for the Arts as Gallery Manager. During quarantine, Emily attempted to teach herself crochet with marginal success, but she continues to return to her first love, knitting.
