GASLAND
Presented by: Lewis and Kathy Robinson
Tuesday, May 29th, 7PM (105 minute running time)
$5 suggested donation.

The largest domestic natural gas boom in history has swept across the United States. The Halliburton-developed drilling technology of "fracking" or hydraulic fracturing has unlocked a "Saudi Arabia of natural gas" just beneath us. But is fracking safe? When film maker Josh Fox is asked to lease his land for drilling, he embarks on a cross-country odyssey uncovering a trail of secrets, lies and contamination. A recently drilled nearby Pennsylvania town reports that residents are able to light their drinking water on fire. This is just one of the many absurd and astonishing revelations of a new country called GASLAND. Part verite travelogue, part expose, part mystery, part bluegrass banjo meltdown, part showdown… For more about Gasland, go to gaslandthemovie.com.

Take a SeatNew Seats in the Foulds!

We are pleased to announce that after more than a year of dreaming there are new seats in the Foulds Theater at the Alliance for the Arts!  Don’t miss your chance to make a lasting impression on the Alliance by having one of the new seats named in your, your family or your loved one’s honor.  We are now able to offer a more accessible and more comfortable theater experience to our audiences while creating better workspaces for our artists. Naming a theater seat offers donors the opportunity to support local theater and arts productions at the Alliance for years to come.  Your generous gift will be recognized with an engraved plaque on a seat in our Foulds Theater.  All donations are tax deductible to the full extent that the law allows. Phone 239-939-2787 for more information.
